Both Mr Colonel H Qomoyi and Ms Anjana Bose, are responsible for the tourism unit of the South African High Commission. The primary aim of the revitalised tourism unit is the promotion of outbound tourism to South Africa from India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal and the Maldives.

Officials of the tourism unit interact with various tour operators and travel agents with a view to informing them about tourist attractions and products in South Africa. Apart from individual meetings, the unit organises tourism seminars at various centres in the country, during which videos on South African tourism are screened. They also distribute tourism brochures on South Africa.

Their efforts are carried out in conjunction with the High Commission's Consular Section. The Consular section attends seminars in order to provide information on all matters pertaining to visa applications. They gladly handle any inquiry with regard to visa applications.

Tour operators, travel agents and all interested parties are invited to contact them for a video presentation or to discuss tourism related issues. Prospective tourists are most welcome to visit the High Commission to receive information on possible places to visit in South Africa. South Africa remains a marvellous destination, visited primarily by tourists from Africa, Europe, North America and East Asia, and is waiting to be explored by South Asia.
