 Visitors Visa

A visitor's visa is granted to a foreigner who intends proceeding to South Africa for one of the following purposes:
 • bona fide holiday or family visit
 • sports persons (applications are processed at Head Office)
 • spouse or dependent of a foreigner already in possession of a workpermit/immigration permit
 • attendees of conferences/seminars/religious tours
 • researchers
 • other purposes

Guidelines for Application for a Tourist Visa
 1A valid passport for the Republic of South Africa.
 2Duly filled visa application form (one copy only).
 3One (recent) passport size photograph.
 4South African visas are issued free of charge to Passport holders of India.Any Other nationals, kindly call & check with the Embassy.
 5A minimum of three working days is required to process an application.
 6Applicants can be requested to lodge a refundable deposit which will be refunded if the applicant complies with the conditions of the temporary residence permit.
(Amount is INR 40,000/- in the form of demand draft, Payable to South African High Commission.)
 7Foreign Exchange must be endorsed or Intl credit card photocopy may be submitted.
 8Confirmed hotel booking to be faxed by the hotel in South Africa directly to the Mission or a hotel voucher from a recognised Travel Agent.
 9A "No Objection" letter from employer./ covering letter on own letterhead from applicant.
10A copy of the travel plan within South Africa and confirmed hotel reservations.
11In the event that a South African family or company extends an invitation, the letter of invitation must be submitted with the application. Family or South African companies may fax directly to the office in New Delhi at 614 4504 or alternatively at 6143605 or to the Consulate in Mumbai at 389 3729.
12Students travelling should prove their bona fides and also submit permission that they may be absent from school/university.
13With regard to Airline sponsored visits, an accompanying letter stating the exact responsibilities of their staff members and/or dependants.
